About the event

Each year MCMG members assist the MTREC staff to put on the Fruits of the Backyard Field Day.


The MTREC staff does all the heavy lifting. They plan the event, recruit presenters, arrange the conference room, put up the tents for the vendors and demonstrations, and drive the tractor to take attendees to the berry patches.


We run the registration desk, do what is needed to make the presentations run smoothly, hold a public outreach booth and put on a few short demonstrations during registration and between speakers. We also get to listen to the presentations.


The demonstrations should last about 5 minutes and be repeated as groups come and go. Last year one demonstration was on how to divide irises


We need 2 or 3 members to do the demonstrations, 3 or 4 members to register attendees, and 2 or 3 members to answer questions at the outreach booth,…
